The recent lame duck legislative session in Springfield reminded me of The West Wing episode The Lame Duck Congress from the show's second season.   Hollywood seems to think that elected officials have honor and integrity while the reality in Springfield would suggest otherwise.   These types of shenanigans are becoming less and less surprising while at least one neighboring governor is comparing what's going on in Springfield to an episode of The Simpsons.   Should lame duck sessions be banned?
