Rural Road Conditions Deteriorate with Dropping MFT Distribution

Drivers should be reminded that township roads are not immune from the tough economic climate that the state of Illinois is currently in.  Road commissioners report spending ten times the amount they have in the past on snow removal and they anticipate an equally expensive spring and summer season.

Rural Driving Safety

Champaign County is one of the largest counties in Illinois at just over 1000 square miles.  With the exception of Champaign-Urbana, the county is comprised mostly of rural roads which are patrolled by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.  Enforcement of criminal and traffic laws in these rural areas is the responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office.  One major area of concern continues to be driving safety and awareness in these rural areas especially at unmarked rural intersections within Champaign County as well as when farm implements are present during planting and harvest.

Radon mitigation systems are relatively inexpensive ranging from $800-2500 due to foundation types, crawlspace, square feet. Multiple foundation types require more work and material resulting in higher cost.  Test your home, it is affordable and easy to rectify. The notion of "If I don't know about it won't hurt me" are gone. Over time radon gas from a home can be a real threat!
